Speedy Seedlings
Macomb, start seeds as soon as possible to get the plants you want for the growing season!
Tip to get seeds growing sooner:
Cover your seeds loosely to help keep the soil evenly moist.
Open and close the cover am and pm each day to let fresh air inside.
Most seeds don't need light to germinate. Check your seed package.
As SOON as you see any green, remove the cover and put them under light.
The closer to the light source they are, the more compact. Elevate them and/or lower the lights.
I started calendula Sunday 4/30 and they're sprouting Tuesday 5/3!!
This even worked this year when I started carrots - using thin strips of wood!
